What is this site?

A hodgepodge of webpages that was started in August 2003.

Dictionary.com defines hodgepodge as a heterogeneous mixture; jumble with synonyms conglomeration, miscellany, muddle, mess. Certainly this site consists of a heterogeneous mixture of webpages; some may consider it a jumble or a mess. A miscellany of webpages is a preferable description.

  • My OTR Pages - Originally RadioWebLinks was on this website; most of the information on RadioWebLinks has been transferred to OTRRpedia.net (see below). The materials from the Featured Items section of RadioWebLinks are now housed in My OTR Pages. These consist primarily of results from research projects on OTR.

What is NOT on this site?

Originally, both RadioWebLinks and OTRRpedia.net were on this website. As indicated above, the information from RadioWebLinks has been transferred to OTRRpedia.net. Most of the links to RadioWebLinks pages will eventually transfer you to the corresponding pages on OTRRpedia.net. In February 2009, OTRRpedia.net has been moved to another server.

  • OTRRpedia.net - A site is dedicated to the people of OTR (Old Time Radio): the actors, announcers, musicians, writers, directors, producers, sound people, etc. who provided entertainment, news, sports, information, etc. from the late 1920's through the 1950's and then into 1970's. This site provides information about these people and the radio programs in which they worked.

Who is the webmaster?

The webmaster is a retired mathematics professor who spent many years developing a website for the teaching of calculus, Visual Calculus, and who with Professor Earl Fife established one of the first portals for finding mathematical materials on the web, the Mathematics Archives, which, unfortunately, is now seriously out-of-date. After retirement in 2002, he used his web building and programming skills in developing websites and other materials for his faith, family and hobbies.
